Not sure if this is coincidence or magic. Searched – in the kind of desperation that follows Day 1 of crate training a pup that was dumped in the forest near me yesterday, while simultaneously working from home – for ‘calming music for dogs’ – and this popped up. She couldn’t be more than 4 – 6 months old. She was soaked through when I came across her, after being rained on for most of last night – freezing cold, very hungry, hurt and absolutely terrified. It took me an hour to coax her out from under my car where she ran after I spotted her and pulled over. I suspect she was thrown from a moving vehicle, there’s a nick out of one hind leg and she was heavily favouring a paw. Awkward posture all day yesterday, as though she was hurting all over her wee body. Treated with painkillers and anti-inflammatories after a decent meal and lots of cuddles and reassurance. Slept a lot yesterday and with me last night as she was so clearly frightened that I would also abandon her. Woke today with normal posture, no longer limping and barely favouring the paw. We are the vet clinic tomorrow morning before work to have her checked, vaccinated and microchipped and then I only have 3 days to crate train her before I have 2 days in the office next week. It was not going well tonight (the howling has been ear-splitting, despite the gradual introduction over the course of the day) but within 10 minutes of playing this video, she’s out like a light and my own 3 dogs are literally snoring. Some days I hate human beings. And then I find stuff like this and caring people in the comments and I remember that not everyone is awful. (If I could find the mongrels who did this to her, I’d probably wind up in jail…) She is so sweet and placid and obedient and will only be going to the very best of homes after what she’s been through. Thank you for this music – I had braced myself for a long and sleepless night until it occurred to me that something like this might exist. There is good in the world after all 🙂

I’ve been putting this same music on now for my two dogs, (7 1/2 year old English Springer Spaniels – littermates) since they were 8 weeks old and they calm down within 5 minutes….it’s MAGIC and will sleep for hours.
