The key to puppy potty training isn’t simply teaching your puppy to “go outside.” It’s learning to control and track when food and water go in so you can predict when they need to come out.
I’ll show you why common potty training methods like pee pads, potty bells, and punishing a puppy after an accident can work against you. Then we’ll break down the schedule and strategy we use to create successful repetitions outside and prevent bad habits from developing inside.

  1. My Doggo Argentino pit mix Majesty barks and scratches on my door, my other dog Stitch who is a pit mix just jumps on my lap and literally sit on me full ceder block weight when he has to go out like dude why don’t you go to the door anymore 😭

  2. okay I really am struggling here. so we rescued a 4 week old puppy that was living in a tent outside in Seattles Cal Anderson Park with multiple people who were surrounding him with drugs, etc. anyways we also have a 2 year old american bully who we were already looking for a friend for him and so then we found little Rex. now we just moved into a small two bedroom apartment and I have never had a puppy before. when we got Rocky he was 6 months old from a breeder hes champion bred he had tons of siblings and had their own room in a massive house so he was already pretty well trained when we got him and also what also made it easier was we had hardwood floors in this apartment it’s ALL cream color carpets. so when we got him that first day it was great he was so small and so cute and we just didn’t even think about it we said yes right away a couple hours later I was bringing him home to his new house and to meet his big brother Rocky. They loved eachother the second they met and have been inseparable since that day. Now my first mistake, of many, was that this little guy was literally pissing and pooping all over our brand new carpets. like by the time I found one spot he a finishing two more in the hallway or bedroom. it was pretty frustrating. I know many people would have definitely thought very hard by the end of that first day about trying to find him a better place, but With Rocky and him Bonded the way they did there’s no way that could ever be a thought. So again mistake#1… we have a sliding glass double door to our back deck. and I thought if i can temporarily get him to potty on the deck that would prevent him from going in the house… so we got done potty pads and I spent the next day or two training him to potty on the pads and it eventually worked but we would have to leave the door open enough for him to go out or he would immediately find a potty place inside. needless to say it’s getting cold fast and what was a horrible temporary fix has turned into such a horrible mess. so now I am attempting to potty train him to go outside and potty with Rocky when we go out but this little shyt he will literally eat and then we go outside almost immediately because I’ve noticed how fast he goes#2 after he eats so we go outside and he will not go outside AT ALL… I have tried with Rocky and then workout Rocky because maybe it is a distraction but no and my boyfriend has tried we have taken him outside for hours at a time and he will not go. even if we leave and we are gone most of the day he died not go while we’re out of the house. But so help me The second we walk thru the front door this little guy is obviously they are thirsty when we get home so we let them get some water and i swear he is immediately going pee and poop sometimes he doesn’t even drink the water he will just go potty and if we don’t open the door for water he will find somewhere. so I tried putting him in his kennel then taking him out to eat in the morning and go outside for our morning walk and to go potty and if he didn’t go then I would bring him back inside and he’d go in the kennel and I would try again in an hour or so take him outside and nothing and back in the kennel until lunch and same thing if he didn’t go then back in the kennel and he was literally holding his pee and poop and would not go and I did this for a couple of days. now of course by the end of the day dad comes home and he woukd wine and cry and of course the second he was let out hed start running around all excited and sometimes he’d just start peeing in dad and all over because he’s excited and hasn’t gone to the bathroom all day so then dad gets upset but its so hard to get upset with him because it was my initial huge mistake of potty training him to go outside in the deck and if course everytime he went potty on the pads he would get a treat because he wasn’t going inside and it was great that he was going on the pads and Of course now that he is probably so confused and set in his ways of going potty on the deck thats like his designated safe potty spot and now were trying to take that and and turn it into big boy potty with rocky and its just not working… he’s peeing all over the house if the doors not open he won’t go right away inside but like if dad comes or if him and Rocky are playing and he can’t hold it anymore he just goes and dads getting upset because I can’t get this stubborn little guy to go outside and he’s now almost 4 months and it’s just a mess. I did start limiting his water he used to get unlimited water anytime he wanted and now that I have been feeding them inside and only giving them water when they eat or after we come inside from a walk i will let them get some water and one 630 comes and they eat dinner I don’t let them have anymore water till morning because he is awake promptly at 6 am every morning. that’s also when dad wakes up for work so it’s pretty much programmed to wake up at 6 and as soon as I open the door hes running to go #2 and then of course he’ll go pee right after that and then I feed them and we go outside and we do it 3 or 4 times a day because I’m with them 24hours a day. and so anyways this is my hell and I would love some feedback on what to do because it has to stop. I would never get rude if him or anything no matter what but I just need help fixing my mistake because poor little guys getting into trouble and is not really his fault and I’m getting reemed because it was my horrible idea that started this whole thing and now we’re in potty hell!!! so please anyone that sees this and thinks they have a solution at this point im open to try anything!!!
