The First 3 Things You MUST Teach Your Dog!

I’m a big believer you don’t need to teach a ton of obedience to your dogs and I never waste time with dog training tricks that aren’t useful, but these 3 things I think everyone should teach there dogs!

  1. I have a new miniature schnauzer puppy named Nami, she is 10 months. I am having some issues with her barking at any noise outside my apartment – for example if people are leaving their units. What strategies could help her to stay quiet with these noises? I have tried putting her in a time out, but she will stop barking and then come out of time out and do the same thing, the next time she hears a sound. So I am not really sure what to do?

  2. My standard pasted-in personal list here: DON’T GO OUT IN THE STREET WHEN THERE ARE CARS. Go ahead and cross the street when there are no cars.
This is all a dog can learn. Dog’s don’ t do red light / green light. You may have to jaywalk at first and then teach your dog to wait until you, the human, cross the street later.

Don’t put rocks or any other undigestable object in your mouth. One Youtuber has a new video about her $7000 vet surgery because her dog swallowed a rock. PUPPIES DO THIS MUCH MORE OFTEN!

Don’t jump up on people or reach your paws up on them to greet them.

    Don’ t sniff crotches.

Children are good. Do not use force with them. Babies are good. Do not get close to them; keep your distance, but like them too.

DON’T KILL CATS! Cats are good. You must take the puppy around cats and show the puppy that cats are to loved … but left alone

Black people and other people of different races are just the same. Think that lesson isn’t necessary? It IS. We did that at the training center where I worked. If you don’t give your puppy this experience, don’t blame your dog when you’re sitting in Court.
    Or jail.

Take your puppy to all places that might be frightening: bridges … start with little footbridges, big ones too scary … loud places, loud parties, bodies of water, tall buildings.
